Newsletter 10-15-17

Please remember to have your child return his/her Weekly Reading Log tomorrow.  A new one for this week will be sent home tomorrow as well.  This Reading Log is for a grade for report cards.

Your child will also bring home his/her weekly Home Fluency Reading Folder tomorrow.  The instructions are included inside this folder.

Field Trip:

The two 2nd grade classes will be taking a field trip to Linder Farms on Friday, October 20th.  The permission slip has already come home with your child.  If you need another permission slip, please let me know and I will send another paper home with your child.  At this point, I have 12 students that have not turned in their permission slips.  We are also asking for a donation of $4.50, if possible, for the entrance fee.  Any child that does not donate $4.50 will still be allowed to go on this field trip.  I will pay for them myself.  However, I would still like the signed permission slip returned to school.

OCTOBER BOOK:

The School-wide book for October will be Journey to the Center of the Earth. I will send more information at a later date concerning the classroom celebrations focusing on this book.  I wanted to give parents plenty of time to plan, because all costumes must tie to this book.

FAMILY PUMPKIN CARVING NIGHT, MOVIES, & CARVING CONTEST:

Come join the fun on Tuesday, October 24th from 5:30 -7 p.m. for the PFA sponsored FAMILY PUMPKIN CARVING Night.  Pizza, soda, and desserts will be for sale throughout the evening. 'Bedknobs and Broomsticks' – G rated will show in the gym starting at 5:30 p.m.

The Nightmare Before Christmas’ - PG rated will be shown in the library starting at 5:45 p.m.  The original short film and PSA created by the FLL Robotics Team HydroBots will be shown in the library at 5:30 p.m. prior to the featured film.
